Parallela was looking for photos to add to their portfolio and I was more then happy to do a photo shoot for them.
Here’s a sampling of just my favorite pictures.
Photographer’s notes:
I started shooting with the Sigma Flash on a tether mainly to gain the AF light, but quickly found out that AF assist light was not really necessary when shooting at f5.6 or f8.0 . The DOF is large enough to account for any focus in-accuracies.
About 1/2 way thorough I switched to a set of wireless triggers to control two flashes since I needed to shoot a group, which required even lighting across all of them.
To my pleasure, the wireless triggers worked flawlessly, 100% of the time. The triggers were the Yongnuo RF 602 variety.
Most shots were taken at about f/5.6 or f/7.1 ish, at 1/200 shutter speeds, and ISO 400. The flashes provided more then enough light even at 1/4 and 1/8 setting.
Equipment used was a Canon 40D, Tamron 18-55 f2.8, a Sigma EF-500 DG super and Minolta 4000AF flash and an AF assist gadget.
