Attended the first Neuinstallation show last weekend. What an amazing experience. The bands put on such a phenomenal performance it would be hard to choose a favorite.
Photographer’s notes:
I was excited to shoot this saturday night for several reasons. I love shooting live bands, and this would be my first live photo shoot since Kinetik 4.0.
Multiple off camera flashes
I set up 2 off camera flashes on either side of the stage pointing at the stage, and set each one on a different channel. Then I could choose from the camera which side I wanted to fire. Each flash was set to 1/4 power which let me shoot mostly at ISO 400.
The AF Assist Tool
Once again I was very pleased with how well this tool worked. At the end of the night the majority of my shots were in perfect focus.
Most of the shots were taken at 1/100 shutter speed and f4-f5.6. ISO was 400 -800
Equipment used was a Canon 40D, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.4, Nissin Di622mkII and a Sigma EF-500 DG super flash, along with a AF assist gadget and set of Yongnuo RF-602 flash triggers.
